NGM: the Hungarian retail is more than three times higher than the EU average
Retail sales are expanding in Hungary for two years. The increase in June was the fourth fastest in the European Union, and it was more than three times higher than the EU average – the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) told MTI on Thursday. The Ministry expects a consumption growth in the remaining months of the year.
The retail trade structure is becoming more balanced. In addition to food and fuel trade, a strong growth occured in non-food sales as well – the analysis of the NGM emphasized.
The recent data and the latest figures clearly show that the introduction of the Sunday rest day did not result a drop in traffic, people have adapted to the change in opening hours, traffic is shifted towards the other days of the week – the ministry pointed out. (MTI)
