NGM State Secretary: the machine industry plays a decisive role in industrial development
The development of the machine industry is essential for Hungary to be at the forefront of European industry by 2030 – said the State Secretary responsible for industrial policy and technology of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) on Friday in Budapest, at the professional event called the Hungarian Industrial Machine Grand Prix 2024.
The award ceremony was attended by prominent actors of the machine industry and industrial development, as well as representatives of small and medium-sized companies. A number of innovative projects were presented at the competition, which provide forward-looking solutions in the fields of the food machinery industry, energy, digital transition and artificial intelligence. The purpose of the competition is to support the adaptation of state-of-the-art technological solutions in the production processes, thereby contributing to the implementation of Hungary’s Competitiveness Strategy, the NGM wrote in a statement.
Gergely Fábián stated that the strategic objectives of domestic industrial development include increasing the share of the manufacturing industry and the machinery industry that supports it, and product and production development based on innovation is a prerequisite for this.
The application of the latest technologies plays a decisive role in improving the competitiveness of Hungarian industry. The investments carried out in the field of mechanical engineering, adapted to the digital transition, create new, higher-level or jobs requiring different technical skills, thereby increasing productivity and added value, he explained.
