NGM: tourism is increasingly helping to restore economic growth
In January, the turnover of tourist accommodation increased by 11 percent, the performance of the sector in January surpasses the data of the record year 2019 before the war and Covid. Tourism is increasingly helping to restore economic growth – the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) stated in its statement on Wednesday, evaluating the latest statistical data.
NGM recalls: according to the report of the Central Statistical Office (KSH) and the data of the National Tourist Information Center (NTAK), the number of guest nights increased by 11 percent in January 2024. In the first month of the year, 836,000 guests arrived at Hungarian accommodations, which is 10 percent higher than at this time a year ago and 4 percent higher than the data measured in the first month of the record year 2019.
