The new plant of the Várda Meat Kft. can be built from 4 billion HUF

Szijjártó Péter, Minister of Foreign Affairs called the food industry as one of the breakthroughs of the Hungarian economy on Tuesday at the foundation stone cermony of the new pllant of the Várda Meat Kft. in Kisvárda, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county. The poultry processing plant costs 3 billion 960 million HUF.

In 2018, the Hungarian food industry produced a production value of 3235 billion HUF after an increase of seven percent. One tenth of total manufacturing output came from this sector, the minister said.

The sector employs 151,000 people, with poultry meat exports reaching 220,000 tonnes last year, which is 30,000 tonnes more than in 2017. A significant part of this comes from Kisvárda and its region – Szijjártó Péter said. (MTI)
