NAK-Húszövesség: a significant turnover of hot dogs is expected at the end of the year again this year
Despite the change in consumer habits, a significant amount of hot dogs may be sold domestically in the last days of the year, the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK) told MTI.
Annual turnover is around 34,000 tons, of which 10-25 percent may fall in the last month of the year. A significant part of the products are still traditional, but the range has been expanded with more and more new products in recent years, and today it is not necessary for everyone to stick to New Year’s hot dogs – they wrote.
According to the announcement, customers are looking for better quality hot dogs during the holiday season. NAK and the Hungarian Butchers’ Association (Húszövesség) recommend domestically produced products because they best meet the expectations of Hungarian consumers, are reliable and controlled. It is worth choosing hot dogs with as few ingredients as possible, because too many additives can cause quality deterioration, they added.
