Márton Nagy: half a million people are missing from the labor market
The Hungarian labor market needs 500,000 people, who should preferably be found in Hungary, after which only guest workers can come – said Minister of Economic Development Márton Nagy at the meeting of the National Sustainable Development Council in Budapest on Friday.
In explaining the industrial development strategy, the minister emphasized that the Hungarian economy must be based on investment, which requires a constant influx of foreign capital, modernization and research and development.
Last year, the investment rate was 27.2 percent in relation to GDP, which puts Hungary third in the ranking of OECD countries, he said.
Márton Nagy said at the session held in the Parliament that despite the negative effects of the war and the energy crisis, the government’s goal is still to catch up with Hungary.
