More and more people want to work in Hungary, said Minister of National Economy Márton Nagy on Saturday in his presentation at the Tranzit spring conference entitled Year of Elections – Year of Changes, in which he analyzed the processes taking place in the Hungarian labor market.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of National Economy sent to MTI on Saturday, the head of the ministry emphasized at the event that in order to restart and further increase economic growth, it is necessary to further expand labor market activity.
The government’s goal is to raise the level of employment among 20-64-year-olds to 85 percent in order to reach 90 percent of EU development, he stated.
According to the latest labor market data, the unemployment rate in Hungary has increased slightly, while 4.7 million people are still working, and the number of registered job seekers is at a historic low.
