Nagy István: soy production should also be promoted in the future
In the future, the cultivation of genetically modified soybeans (GMO-free) in Hungary should be encouraged, and the strategic aim is to preserve and process domestic yields – Nagy István Minister of Agriculture said on Monday in Budapest.
At the meeting organized by the National Agricultural Chamber (NAK) and the Hungarian Soy and Protein Plant Association, the Minister explained that in Hungary this year, about 174 thousand tonnes of soy was produced on 60 thousand hectares, which means a 2.9 tonnes per hectare yield. (MTI)
