Sole-Mizo underwent major development, Túró Rudi was renewed

Túró Rudi’s recipe hasn’t changed or only barely changed for a long time, just as the production process has remained the same. A 2-year HUF 300 million development project was recently completed at Sole-Mizo Zrt.’s dairy plant in Marcal, and this makes it possible to make sweets from real chocolate instead of coating mass.

The taste has completely changed according to the taste test

The bars have been made with the cheap, easy-to-use coating compound containing vegetable fats, instead of chocolate. The report of szmo.hu according to, in order for this to change now, several new equipment and capacity expansion were needed in the factory. However, after the improvements, they were able to make a coating of 53 percent dark chocolate for the Curd Rudi.

According to the portal’s taste test, compared to the coating mass, this crispy chocolate coating represents a greater contrast with the soft curd filling, and thus Túró Rudi has a slightly stronger taste than before. The change is also unique because the recipe for Túró Rudi has not changed much in more than five decades (production of the candy began in 1968).
