METRO Customer Academy was launched amid great interest
2010 was a milestone in the life of METRO Hungary, as by opening their Customer Academy the retail chain now offers also professional knowledge and an opportunity for development to partners. We asked Piroska Balestra, METRO’s head of the customer academy department. By establishing the academy, METRO’s objective was to provide professional partners with knowledge and information through training courses that also give a memorable experience. The Academy boasts a 12-stand practice kitchen, a 24-seat auditorium and a 30-seat restaurant with a lobby and a bar. For retailers practice shops were set up and the building houses a 120-seat conference room as well. After opening ceremony on 18 October, the Customer Academy started functioning on 2 November with 3 training courses. 25 training programmes were organised in 25 days, where the number of participants was around 300. Blue, silver and gold card holder customers happily participated in the training programmes, and not only from Budapest but from all over the country. Work at the academy continues from January, awaiting partners with new themes and new opportunities!
