Rossmann Introduces Modern Store Design in Germany
The Rossmann drugstore chain has launched a comprehensive store redesign project in Germany. According to Lebensmittelpraxis, the first store featuring the new concept opened at the end of March in Wennebostel, a town near the company’s headquarters.
The 700-square-meter store offers more than 18,500 products and already operates with the updated design.
The company aims to create a warmer and more welcoming shopping environment. In line with this goal, the store interiors prominently feature natural, warm wooden tones. To improve orientation, key product areas—such as cosmetics, fragrances, organic foods, baby care, and the “Idea World” section—are marked with distinct colors and frames.
The modernization is both visual and functional. The revamped store includes two self-service checkouts, a photo station, and a dedicated pickup point for online orders. The newly developed entrance area also features special enclosures for mini shopping carts designed for children.
As executive management spokesperson Raoul Rossmann explained, the new store design is not revolutionary, but rather a gradual evolution that brings more light and color into Rossmann stores. He expressed pride in how colleagues from various departments collaborated closely to develop the new concept.
Starting in August 2025, all new and renovated stores will feature the new design. Rossmann plans to modernize at least half of its store network within five years and has committed significant investments to support this transformation.
The redesign aims to bridge the gap between online and in-store experiences while strengthening the brand’s visual identity across retail spaces.
