MNB Director: Sustainable achievement of the inflation target is expected a quarter later, in mid-2019
According to the latest Inflation report of the Central Bank, the sustainable achievement of the inflation target is likely to be achieved by one quarter later in mid-2019. The investments will increase rapidly and household consumption will continue to grow – Balatoni András, Director of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) announced on Thursday in Budapest at a press conference.
The MNB expects a growth of 3.6 percent for this year and a 3.7 percent for next year and 3.2 percent for 2019. This year, according to the MNB’s experts, the impact of the labor day effect will slightly moderate growth, as well as the lower performance of agriculture and the transformation of industrial product structure.
