For the time being, the slightly stronger pace of expansion continues, with the seasonally adjusted value of the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) at 52.8 in August after the 51.1 in July – the Hungarian Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Company (MLBKT) said in a business press report sent to MTI on Tuesday.

They explained that August was an above-average month – in previous years, the long-term average since 1995 was 52.6, compared to 52.7 for August. Over the past three years, the August average has been higher at 54.8, thanks to the faster pace of 2017-2018.

This year’s value can thus be considered above average in August since 1995.
Most of the sub-indices examined in the survey increased compared to July, reaching 5 percentage points in three cases. (MTI)
