Countless arguments can be put forward in favor of frequent fish consumption. One of them is that it has a lot of positive physiological effects. The other is that November 21 is World Fisheries Day, and it’s worth celebrating with a delicious fish dish. Finally, tenders can now be made for high-quality fresh fish meat.

Hungary was once a great power in fish consumption. However, nowadays the fish is only harvested among dieters and at Christmas. Deep-fried, rolled in paprika flour and as fish sauce. Thus, we have become one of the least fish-consuming nations in the world.

The benefits of eating fish cannot be emphasized enough

A friend of the heart, as it contains omega-3 fatty acids, its regular consumption contributes to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for the construction of cell membranes, and they also support the healthy development of the eyes and brain. Fish is a good source of vitamin A, which protects the skin and mucous membranes, and vitamin D, which is necessary for bone building and the functioning of the immune system, but it is also rich in vitamins B1, B2, which play a role in various metabolic processes, and B12, which is important for blood formation. The significant iodine content of marine fish promotes the functioning of the thyroid gland. Its selenium content helps maintain the health of the cardiovascular system and the cell membrane.

60-80% of fish is water

Fish with oily meat (e.g. salmon, herring) provide more energy, while white-meat fish (e.g. cod, flounder) provide less energy. In addition, fish contains, among other things, high-quality protein necessary for muscle building and the smooth functioning of the immune system. And it can also contain proven high quality, since fresh fish meat can be applied for the KMÉ trademark.
