Every fifth Hungarian is thinking about changing jobs in the hope of a higher salary
Skyrocketing, multi-digit inflation, increased fuel prices, rising utilities as a result of the energy crisis, falling real wages – these are just some of the economic challenges that significantly affect our daily lives, our financial prospects and our expectations for this year. The year 2023 has reached us in an uncertain economic environment fraught with financial difficulties, which naturally leaves its mark on society’s prospects. This January’s research by Generali Biztosító assessed, among other things, the expectations and financial plans of Hungarians for the year 2023.
Based on the research, a division can be discovered among Hungarians in terms of their expectations for 2023, as there are almost half of the optimists and the pessimists. 51 percent of the respondents stated that they felt positive and optimistic at the beginning of the year, while 49 percent stated that they were more pessimistic.
In the case of the younger age group (18–39 years old), the proportion of pessimists is higher, while among the older age group (40–65 years old), there are more pessimists. In addition, the optimistic approach is more typical of those with higher incomes – greater financial security therefore also has a positive effect on the annual outlook.
