New Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Director at BAT Hungary and Austria

Mikola Gergely was appointed as the Director of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs at BAT Hungary and Austria.

British American Tobacco Hungary, the market-leader tobacco company of Hungary has recently appointed a new Director of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs. Gergely Mikola is replacing Bas Tonnaer who continues his career at BAT Switzerland. The new Director is responsible for the corporate and regulatory affairs at both BAT Hungary and BAT Austria from 16th of March, 2010.
Mr. Mikola is also the Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hungary and has a professional experience of more than 10 years. The new Director of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs at BAT Hungary has a strong track record as Director of Communication and Public Affairs at Provident Pénzügyi Zrt. in the past 6 years. Previously he headed Premier Communications as Managing Director. Gergely Mikola (33) is married and has a 5 year-old daughter.
Mr. Mikola is in charge for the management of corporate and regulatory affairs of both BAT Hungary and BAT Austria. With his appointment the top management of BAT Hungary and Austria is in full force again, as since 1st of January 2010, the Hungarian management team, headed by the also recently appointed Octavian Dascalescu, is responsible for the management of BAT Austria as well.
Reflecting on his appointment Mikola Gergely said: „It is both exciting and challenging to manage corporate and regulatory affairs in these two countries, that are so different in their cultural, social, economic and media environment, despite the fact that they are neighbours. But I believe, that whereever we have correct communication, well-founded argumentation and responsible corporate conduct, that are equally important.
