Egg shortage in Europe
More than a fifth was needed to pay more for eggs in November, compared to last year – index wrote. According to the most recent inflation figures of the Central Statistical Office while in the summer, an egg price averaged around 36-37 forints, in November 46 forints.
The main reason for the increase is that, while demand for eggs has been growing recently, the domestic producers have been unable to keep up with the increase in supply, so import would be increasingly needed. However, it is a problem that there is an egg shortage in Europe for some time. (index, Stubnya Bence)
