Carrefour uses AI to reduce food waste in Belgium
Every day Carrefour has to discount 40,000 near-expiry items in its 831 large stores in Belgium.

As this is a costly operation, the retailer has been looking for a solution that could simultaneously manage expiry dates, optimise discounts and combat food waste. Following a successful test period, Carrefour Belgium is now rolling out its new AI tracking tool on a large scale, which the company hopes will help streamline operations, reduce costs and increase profitability. //
