This is the cake of Budapest
Twenty exciting confectionary creations competed in Budapest’s official birthday cake competition, and the Natalis cake from Belvárosi Auguszt Cukrászda, made by Csilla Müller, won the title. Among the five finalist cakes, the professional jury selected the Budapest 150 Cake, which will be available in pastry shops from November 17.
Budapest Brand Zrt. and the Magyar Cukrász Ipartestület, on behalf of the Metropolitan Municipality, announced a tender for Budapest’s 150th anniversary, which aimed to create a celebratory cake that combines the past with current trends. Confectioneries, catering establishments and vocational training institutions in the hospitality industry could also apply for the tender. The professional jury – confectioners Nóra Balogh, Zoltán Andrész and Ádám Pataki, as well as Csaba Faix, CEO of Budapest Brand – selected the winning cake from five cakes.
The winning cake, Natalis, is a creation of Belvárosi Auguszt Cukrászda, which the creators named Szülétés. The cake can be tasted for the first time in domestic pastry shops on November 17.
