One of Hungary’s largest podcast market players is being renewed
The entertainment audio platform Podpad.hu, launched by Atmedia in 2021, will be completely renewed, and will continue to be available to listeners for free under the name atalon from January this year. During the development process, which takes maximum account of user needs, the interface will be given a modern, more distinctive look – atalon.hu – and the application will also be renewed.
The platform was launched in November 2021 by the largest Hungarian multimedia trading house with the aim of serving the clear market needs for a podcast aggregator. The interface, which is available both online and via the application, also offers users legal content that is not available elsewhere, where in addition to podcast series, numerous online streaming radio channels can now be listened to.
The platform has grown significantly since its launch, and listeners can currently access more than 155 podcast series and 35 online radio stations, with many foreign-language broadcasts in both categories. The platform has also expanded its own content, now offering 36 exclusive series to users, including the OVA gold award-winning podcast Probléma produced by Márkó Linczényi and András Hajós, Endre Kadarkai’s reportage series, and the highly popular audio drama “The Sinful Congregation” starring Pál Mácsai and Anikó Für. Their shows reach more than 120,000 users per month, who spend an average of 125 minutes on the platform.
