The tourism tax may be terminated
The tourism tax (IFA) may be terminated, while the fast-food restaurants may be excluded from the range of Széchenyi Rest Card (SZÉP Cards) accepting locations – Glattfelder Béla, Minister of State of the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) said on Thursday at a conference in Kehidakustány.
According to Glattfelder Béla, it has been suggested that the tourism tax (IFA) that was originally introduced to support local tourism would be worthwhile to eliminate, because it has become a sectoral “special tax” and reduces the resources in the sector. But the local governments would still be entitled to impose local taxes on the sector. (MTI)
