Rossmann opens 250th store – Celebrating with the Rossmann family, international group leaders, and co-owner AS Watson
In the presence of founder-owner Dirk Rossmann, AS Watson Group CEO Malina Ngai, and a number of Rossman’s international executives, Rossmann Magyarország opened its 250th Hungarian store in Budapest, in Árkád Shopping Centre.
Rossmann Magyarország has closed an exciting and exceptionally successful year: the 30-year-old drugstore chain’s gross sales revenue went above HUF 170bn in 2023, once again achieving above-average growth in the drugstore category. They aren’t stopping this year either: the chain will start a HUF 20bn investment near their current headquarters in Üllő, and by the end of 2025 they plan to hand over a 28,000m² logistics centre, which will be complemented by a 4,000m² office.
“We believe that a major contributor to last year’s success was our promotional strategy, with which our main objective was to offer our customers even better promotional prices in a difficult inflationary climate”, said managing director László Flórián. “The company has grown tremendously over the past 30 years, we now have nearly 2,500 colleagues and just opened our 250th store, which would not have been possible without them – and we aren’t planning to stop here”, added managing director Kornél Németh. In 2024 Rossmann Magyarország is implementing campaigns to support their ever-expanding beauty assortment and private label products, plus the Rossmann+ loyalty programme, which now has over 2 million members.
