Plant production in space may start
The German BASF chemical company is backing a student-led research project that aims to examine how food crops can be grown on the international space station – the agrarszektor.hu wrote.
Three students were selected to test whether cuttings can grow their own root system without gravity to guide them. The research will start at the end of the year, with the participation of the three German Students at the – a test which if successful would provide a major step forward in International Space Station (ISS) – the foodnavigator.com wrote.
