More paid holidays at Tesco for under 35s and additional paid leave for carers
Tesco has further expanded its range of family-friendly measures. In order to create a work-life balance, the department store chain gives all employees a minimum of 25 days of paid vacation per year. In addition to the above, it provides 8 weeks of paid leave to colleagues who take care of their relative’s child based on an official decision. In addition to colleagues participating in fertility treatment, the company also extended its conception support to those employees whose partners were involved in these procedures. They can also request 1 week of paid leave per treatment, i.e. up to 3 weeks in total.
Tesco pays special attention to the creation of a diverse and inclusive corporate culture, which is why it is constantly adding new elements to its range of family-friendly measures. It is important for the company to ensure a work-life balance for all of its nearly 10,000 employees, regardless of their life situation. In this spirit, the supermarket chain recently introduced the following new subsidies:
- 25 days of paid leave for all employees: Those under the age of 35 can also take 25 days of paid leave per year, including any days off for childcare.
- More paid leave for caregivers:
- Based on a court or official decision, colleagues who take care of a family member’s child will now receive 8 weeks of paid leave in the same way as adoptive parents.
- Those who care for relatives or loved ones can also claim 4 weeks of unpaid leave.
Extended conception support: Tesco no longer only gives 1 week of paid leave per procedure, i.e. 3 weeks in total, to colleagues participating in fertility treatments, but also to employees whose partners are involved in the procedure.
