The VAT fraud may reach 1,000 billion HUF
In Hungary, approximately 1,000 billion HUF VAT is cheated every year, while the rate of tax evasion can reach 22-25 percent of GDP – Farkas Gábor, Manager of PwC drew attention at the Eastern Hungarian Agricultural Forum organized by Portfolio and agrárszektor.hu.
VAT fraud is particularly high in the agricultural sector. The National Tax and Customs Authority estimated in 2013 that at least 300 billion HUF is embezzled in food production and in the food trade-related sectors. (agrarszektor.hu)
