That’s good! – Auchan and Nébih launched a food rescue campaign
Auchan Hungary has launched an attitude-shaping campaign with the professional support of the Nébih Maradék no program. The aim of the activity is to ensure that everyone is aware of the exact meaning of the terms on the products – such as shelf life and shelf life. There is a huge difference between the two, while the former indicates how long the given food can be safely consumed, while the shelf life refers more to the enjoyment value. In the name of saving food, in the campaign timed for World Food Waste Day, I would also like to raise awareness that certain foods can still be consumed for a while after the expiration date, so it’s a good thing that it’s worth giving them a chance instead of throwing them away right away.
More than half of the food waste generated in the entire food chain comes from households. The total food waste of domestic households is 247,000 tons per year, of which 462,000 people could be satisfied for a year with three meals a day.The National Food Chain Safety Office’s (Nébih) No Leftovers program identified several causes of waste, the most common of which are that we forget about it and the food spoils, we bought too much of it, or we cooked too much and didn’t feel like eating it.
Auchan Hungary wants to further reduce the amount thrown away with the “It’s still good!” program, which was launched with the support of the Nébih Maradék entén program. with its slogan, attitude-shaping, educational campaign. The slogan refers to the fact that certain foods, such as canned goods, dry pasta, rice, coffee, tea, cocoa, chocolate, etc., can be safely consumed for a while even after the shelf life indicated on the product label, at most they lose some of their enjoyment value. It’s worth giving these foods another chance before throwing them away. In its most recent guide, Without Residues, it also specifies how long each type of food can be used after the expiration date. Of course, it is important that their packaging is unopened and intact, and it is also essential that it is placed on our plate only if we find it to be okay by sight, smell, and texture.
