From today, paper straws, paper drink cup tops, and wooden cutlery in the Hungarian McDonald’s
As previously announced, McDonald’s will withdraw single-use plastic straws, cutlery and plastic roofs covering beverage cups from all its domestic units from today, 25 June. They are now replaced by paper straws, wood cutlery and fibre-based cup tops. In developing new tools and processes, the company has also sought to make less of sustainable alternatives. With a salad that is easy to eat without a knife or a resealable glass roof that triggers straw use, it aims to further reduce the amount of waste generated in restaurants.
