Mastercard’s Green Friday campaign encourages conscious shopping this year
Mastercard is launching the Green Friday campaign for the second time, which encourages conscious food shopping and nutrition this year. Several domestic banks joined the initiative.
“The focus of this year’s Green Friday is sustainable food shopping and conscious nutrition, as it is clear that most of our consumer decisions – especially in terms of food consumption – have a significant impact on the environment. According to research, a significant share of global carbon dioxide emissions comes from our everyday purchases and lifestyle choices. Our common goal with our partners is to help those who want to live more sustainably with easy-to-follow tips and solutions: for example, choosing local, seasonal products or reducing food waste. In the campaign, we also want to illustrate that sustainability is not an abstract goal, but a series of everyday choices that everyone can make a little bit towards a more livable future.”
– said Réka Szalkai, Mastercard’s marketing director responsible for Hungary and Slovenia.
On the Green Friday page, interested parties are welcomed with a knowledge base developed by GreenSense professional partners and updated content. In accordance with this year’s theme, topics related to food, conscious, sustainable shopping and eating will come to the fore. In addition to everyday advice, the microsite also helps us make more sustainable decisions in preparation for the upcoming holidays.
