Euro area inflation fell to a five-month low in March
Inflation in the euro area fell to a five-month low in March, according to a report by Eurostat, the European Union’s statistical office.
In March, according to Eurostat’s final data, the rate of increase in consumer prices fell to 0.7 percent a five-month low in the 19 euro area Member States from a 1.2 percent annual rise in February. In March last year, the consumer price index rose by 1.4 percent in the eurozone.
Compared with the previous month, consumer prices rose by 0.5 percent in March in both the euro area and the EU. (MTI)
