More than 400,000 people are already looking for work in Hungary due to the epidemic
The beginning of the year was promising until the announcement of the COVID-19 virus emergency. However, since 11 March, the situation has changed dramatically: a recent, representative survey found that the unemployment rate has risen by almost 5 percent, compared to last year, and one in three jobseekers is looking for a job due to the coronavirus – currently around 400,000. writes penzcentrum.hu.
The year started particularly well in the domestic labor market. From the beginning of January to March 11 – when the emergency was declared in Hungary due to the COVID-19 virus – the number of job applications for jobs increased by 6 őpercent, compared to the same period of the previous year – according to Profession.hu’s own database.
