Eastern Hungary has completely fallen on the corn front, and now there are more and more problems with sowing in the west – Petőházi Tamás, president of the National Association of Grain Growers (GOSZ), informed Agrárszektor.

In the future, the production cost of corn per hectare could be 700,000 HUF

He added that they are confident that Transdanubia will have enough corn for internal consumption. According to the specialist, it is already certain that crop cultivation in the field in Hungary will be restructured, which is partly “thanks” to the fact that, while the cost of growing 1 hectare of autumn corn was 430-470 thousand HUF, now it seems that it will take reach 660-700 thousand HUF per hectare.
