The international chains controls more than two third of Czech food traffic
Large international retail chains control more than two-third of the food trade in the Czech Republic. In Central Europe, this rate is even higher – Zdenek Juracka, president of the Czech traditional trade association (ACTO) said at a press conference in Prague on Friday.
Juracka said that the situation is very serious, the traditional Czech stores are essentially struggling to survive. The number of small food shops and convenience stores are mainly decreasing in the countryside. (MTI, Kokes János)
