The growth of the Czech retail sales continued in May
The data of the retail index indicated an annual increase of 5.4 percent after the 6 percent of April – the Czech Statistical Office (CSU) announced in Prague on Tuesday.
The retail sales virtually increased in every segment of the business. The fastest growth occured in the turnover of webshops: – 23.1 percent. In April, this figure was 19 percent.
The sales and repairing of vehicles are no longer counted into the retail turnover from January. This sector increased by 14 percent in May, after the 7.1 percent ofApril. (Kokes János, MTI)
