Hungarian success at SIAL
Since the 1990s Hungarian-owned ABO Holding Zrt. has been manufacturing and selling classic milling and feed industry products, for the Hungarian market and neighbouring countries.
Owner and CEO György Simon and national account manager Norbert Poór answered our magazine’s questions. In the last few years the company built a modern gluten-free production plant, where they manufacture healthy and free-from products, mainly from their own milling raw materials – Corn&Joy snacks and bread substitutes, and Bonabo traditional and gluten-free flours and cereals in premium packaging.

Norbert Poór:
“Our products are gluten-free, contain only natural ingredients and 95% of the assortment is lactose-free. Our strategy is to keep the price of healthy products at the level of conventional products”.

György Simon
owner and CEO
ABO Holding
György Simon:
“Raw materials are sourced from local farmers, ensuring the shortest possible supply chain. Our factory has the highest IFS certification. Innovation is key in today’s food market. From this year Corn&Joy KIDS products are available, which are free from the TOP 14 allergens. Our latest product is the Bonabo Choco Balls cereal, which is also TOP 14 allergen free: the first orders from abroad have already arrived, thanks to the SIAL Paris trade fair in October”.
ABO Holding Zrt. isn’t only working with traditional distribution channels, so in just over two years they were able to work with partners such as Google, Wizzair, OMV, etc. In the next few years the company will focus on the Hungarian market in addition to export, adding new product lines and flavours to the portfolio.
