Hungarian corn will be utilized by the European Union
The European Union will utilize16 thousand tonnes of corn, from the 2004 and 2005 harvest probably cheaper than the intervention price. Offers should be submitted by mid-December 2009.
The stock will be sold because the market participants did not put more than one offer on intervention price for the 2.23 million tonnes EU intervention stocks, which from the previous year's harvest of corn since last September – reports Napi Gazdaság about the regulation of the European Commission.
