The Hungarian gaming market was expanded by 4 percent last year according to the Regio Játékkereskedelmi Kft.
The traditional games market was expanded by about 4 percent last year in Hungary and exceeded 45 billion HUF – according to the preliminary estimate of the Regio Játékkereskedelmi Kft.
According to the company’s announcement, Regio sold about 6.5 million toys last year. More and more people have opted for online purchases, and web sales have risen by about 30 percent. The value of an average purchase was 6,000 forints in the stores and 7,700 forints online. The most popular items were building sets, social and card games, and creative and developing games.
The company was founded in 1990 as a family enterprise, it is 100 percent Hungarian-owned, employing 450 employees. It has 34 toy stores all over the country. (MTI)
