Magazine: Consumers don’t agree with closing shops on Sundays
AsiaCenter had a survey conducted with 600 participants at four weekends since shops have to stay closed on Sundays. Bucholcz Consulting implemented the study using the ‘app2date’ system. Director Csaba Topor told that 85 percent of respondents said the new regulation annoys them, 39 percent see it as a technical difficulty and 20 percent said it is a theoretical problem for them. 27 percent of the survey’s participants said they usually go some place else but this time they came to AsiaCenter because they knew it was open. More than 42 percent reckon shopping is the most comfortable on Sunday and 28 percent opine that Sunday shopping is a family programme. In the 125,000m² AsiaCenter there 550 shops, the majority of which are small floor space family enterprises so 450 of them can be open on Sundays. AsiaCenter’s marketing manager Mónika Énekes told that visitors like the special profile and show demand for eastern-type retail. Good price/value ratio, a wide range of goods and a pleasant, modern environment attract shoppers to the shopping centre.
