Magazine: Grilling accessories sell well

Sunshine and beautiful spring weather make friends and families go out and cook in the garden. Barbecues are increasingly popular in Hungary, according to Károly Deli, brand manager with Sarantis Hungary Kft., who added that they offer more and more barbecue-related products. Sándor Gödri, sales director of Metsa Tissue Hungary Kft. informed us that usually the barbecue season starts with promotions in April-May. Réka Nagy, marketing manager of SCA Hygiene Products Kft. told our magazine that grilling is a good occasion to call attention to the large variety of products they offer. Ferenc Sárik, brand manager with Vajda Papír Kft. revealed that this season they would like to put special emphasis on unique solutions in the napkin category. Sarantis Hungary Kft.’s Hewa products represent the premium category. For instance the special aluminium foil they developed for grilling is thicker than the average. Their plastic party products are strong, so they can be used more than once. This year the company adds new products to the portfolio: 6-pack 600ml plastic soup plates. Metsa Tissue Kft.’s products are available in all household paper categories. In the household towel category manufacturers are introducing new products, trying to create new sub-categories. Just recently Metsa Tissue Kft. came out with 2 new and innovative products in the 3-layer household towel segment: Tento Extra Strong is 17.5 m long and it stays firm even when it is wet, so it can be squeezed; Tento Kitchen Innovations has very high absorptive capacity and it also remains strong when wet. Both new products are certified to be in direct contact with food. SCA Hygiene Products markets paper products under the Zewa brand name. In the kitchen towel portfolio they offer traditional products and Wisch&Weg products, which are made using the special TAD technology. Zewa paper towels have high absorptive capacity and the majority of them are decorated with motifs. This year the Wisch&Weg paper towel line is going to be updated. Zewa napkins are very popular thanks to their high quality. Vajda Papír Kft.’s experience is that in the last twelve months the paper towel category kept developing dynamically. It is still 2-layer products that dominate but 3-layer towels already represent more than a quarter of the market. In terms of product size two-roll packages are more popular. Paper towels are sold under the Ooops!, Sindy and Lilla brands – the former two are dermatologically tested. The company is also a major manufacturer in the private label market. Ooops! paper towels are available in classic 2-layer, 350-sheet Universal, Decor and recycled Greenline version. Their latest product is FSC® MIX-certified, 200-sheet Ooops! 4You. Communication-wise this season all manufacturers focus on shoppers and on in-store presence. Sarantis Hungary Kft. supports Hewa with secondary displaying and price promotions. They will also offer grill and party packages in several versions. Metsa Tissue Hungary’s marketing mix concentrates on stores and on in-store presence, including the use of flyers and leaflets. Zewa will use television commercials and the digital media, including social networking sites to advertise products. Réka Forgách, junior trade marketing manager of SCA Hygiene Products Kft. called our attention to the fact that well-chosen, cross-category secondary displaying in stores does have the capacity to increases sales – thanks to impulse buying. Zewa’s intention is to educate consumers about the advantages of the Wisch&Weg product range. Vajda Papír Kft.’s Oops! brand did a nationwide communication campaign at the end of last year, with outdoor, in-store, online and television ads. In the first half of 2015 they will continue with the unique, resealable 100 per pack Open&Close facial tissues.
