Csaba Latorcai: brandy brewing is an integral part of national culture
For the Hungarian people, making brandy is almost a right of freedom, an integral part of the national culture – the parliamentary state secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Territorial Development (KTM) declared on Saturday at Füzé in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, the XV. Zemplén Free Pálinka Festival.
Csaba Latorcai reminded that fifteen years ago the government decided that everyone could freely brew brandy at home. He added that making brandy is considered a real hungaricum.
The Secretary of State stated that the festival, in addition to celebrating the freedom of brandy brewing, is a real community event that is decisive in the life of every settlement.
He added that in recent decades, the Füzérers have shown a kind of unity that is best symbolized by the Füzér Castle: instead of a ruin, a magnificent, renewed castle dominates the landscape.
He also spoke about the fact that it is only possible to create competitiveness in each settlement by working together.
