SPAR was full of linguine and fish menus – these are the product innovations that were awarded in 2025
SPAR has recently been awarded two new professional awards. The developments that won the “Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year 2025” award have raised quality and customer experience to a new level.
In the Food category of the “Inno d’Or – Innovation of the Year 2025” competition, two private label products also won the prestigious award: the developments of “SPAR fish ready meals” and “SPAR HAZAI.SZERETEM quick-frozen langostasta” were selected among the best by a 32-member professional jury. The aim of the competition is to draw attention to product innovations that create real value for consumers. “For SPAR, innovation does not simply mean updating the range, but also responding to the changing life situations, habits and expectations of customers. A new product is good if it is not only delicious and practical, but also helps in everyday life: it saves time, provides an experience and is reliable at the same time. That is why we work so that behind every development there is a deep understanding of consumer needs and a commitment to quality. The Inno d’Or award is not only professional recognition for us, but also confirmation that what we think about the meeting of tradition and modernity also becomes a value in the eyes of customers,” said Márk Maczelka, Head of Communications at SPAR Hungary.
Lángos for everyone
SPAR HAZAI.SZERETEM’s quick-frozen, sourdough-based lángo pasta appeared on the market as a gap-filling solution: the iconic dish of traditional Hungarian cuisine can now be prepared easily and quickly at home. The eight-piece, one-kilo package allows for portioning in small portions, reducing food waste, while the sourdough dough offers a more distinctive flavor. The product also offers younger generations a sense of success in the kitchen, while conveying a true gastronomic tradition in a modern form. SPAR’s goal is to make a beloved classic available in everyday life, in the usual quality, simply.
Product line for fish enthusiasts
Progress has also been made in the field of ready-made fish meals at SPAR. The sour cream catfish paprika soup and the fish soup made from African catfish fillet are made with modern technology, using a high-pressure cold process, without preservatives. Thanks to the practical, refrigerated packaging, these traditional Hungarian dishes are now available to consumers not only on holidays, but at any time. The development meets both convenience and health-conscious expectations, preserving the natural flavor and nutritional value of the dishes. Fish stew and fish soup are both protein-rich, easily digestible foods, and it is no coincidence that they are part of Hungarian cuisine and have become the focus of SPAR innovations.
