KSH: last year’s harvest was record-breaking for corn and wheat
The average yield of corn broke a record last year, exceeded 8.6 tonnes per hectare, the total harvest was 8.8 million tons.
According to the data of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), cereals were grown on 2.5 million hectares (5.4 percent ie 145 thousand hectares lower area). The yield was 16.662 million tonnes, 2.5 million tonnes (17.8 percent) more compared to 2015 – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday. (MTI)
