KSH: transport sector showed a modest growth in 2019
The volume of goods transported rose by 2.1 percent to 312 million tons last year, the transportation sector’s performance was 1.5 percent higher than a year before and 58.6 billion tonne-kilometers, according to a recent report by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
In domestic traffic, the tonne-kilometer performance increased by 2.8 percent and internationally by 0.9 percent compared to the previous year. Road haulage accounted for 63 percent of the total freight transport performance, while rail 18, pipeline 15, inland water transport by 3.6 percent. (MTI)
