KSH: in September, the number of employed people was 4,699,000, the unemployment rate was 4.5 percent
In September 2024, the average number of employed persons aged 15-74 decreased by 32,000 compared to the same period of the previous year, to 4,699,000, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
The fact that the level of employment last September was historically outstanding has a significant role in the change, the office added.
In September 2024, the number of unemployed people was 220,000, and the unemployment rate was 4.5 percent.
In the three-month period from July to September, the average number of employed persons among those aged 15-74 did not change essentially, at 4,709,000. While the number of employed men decreased by 32 thousand to 2 million 491 thousand, that of women increased by 31 thousand to 2 million 217 thousand.
The number of workers in the domestic primary labor market rose slightly to 4,545,000. While the number of people working abroad did not change significantly, it was 108 thousand, the number of public employees decreased by 10 thousand, to 56 thousand.
