KSH: industrial producer prices in July increased by 2.5 percent compared to a year earlier and by 0.7 percent compared to the previous month
In July, industrial producer prices were on average 2.5 percent higher than a year earlier. The prices of domestic sales increased by 1.4 percent and those of export sales by 3.0 percent, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.
Compared to the previous month, domestic sales prices rose by 2.0 percent, export sales prices did not change, so industrial producer prices increased by 0.7 percent overall.
Within the average 1.4 percent increase in domestic sales prices, they were 2.8 percent higher in the manufacturing industry, which represented 60.0 percent, and 2.1 percent lower in the energy industry (electricity, gas, steam supply, air conditioning), which accounted for 38.6 percent. The sales prices of the food industry decreased by 1.5 percent.
Among the intended groups of sectors, domestically, prices rose by a combined 0.9 percent in energy and further consumption sectors, 4.2 percent in capital goods producers, and 1.0 percent in consumer goods producers.
Industrial export sales prices were 3.0 percent higher, within which they increased by 3.6 percent in the manufacturing industry, which represented 82.9 percent, and decreased by 3.2 percent in the energy industry, which represented 16.7 percent.
