KSH: earnings increased by 9.1 percent

In August, gross average earnings were 391 thousand 600 HUF, 9.1 percent higher than a year earlier, and in the first eight months of the year they amounted to 395 thousand 400 HUF, while net average earnings excluding discounts were 262 thousand 900 HUF, both increased by 9.9 percent compared to the same period of last year – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Friday.

Calculated with inflation at 3.9 percent in August, real wages rose 5.0 percent in August compared with the same month of last year.

Excluding public employees, the average gross earnings of full-time employees in enterprises with at least 5 employees, budgetary institutions and non-profit organizations significant for employment reached 402,400 HUF and were 9.9 percent higher than in August last year. (MTI)
