KSH: inflation was 5.5 percent in September
In September, consumer prices were on average 5.5 percent higher than a year earlier, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Friday.
The rise is in line with analysts ’preliminary expectations. Higher inflation was last measured nine years ago, in October 2012. So far, inflation at 5.3 percent in June was the highest this year, followed by a 4.6 percent decline in July and 4.9 percent in August.
Annual core inflation rose from 3.6 percent in August to 4.0 percent, the highest level since August last year. (MTI)
