KSH: consumer prices increased by 3.9 percent in April
In April, consumer prices were on average 3.9 percent higher than a year before, with prices rising 0.9 percent on average in March – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Thursday. In the first four months of the year, consumer prices rose on average by 3.4 percent, compared to the same period of last year.
Analysts forecast annual inflation of 4.0 percent in April, after the 3.7 percent in March.
Seasonally adjusted core inflation was 3.8 percent year-on-year and 0.3 percent, compared to the previous month. Annual core inflation rose to 3.8 percent in March from the 3.2 percent in January and 3.5 percent in February. (MTI)
