KSH: the price of alcoholic beverages, tobacco and food products is at the forefront in inflation
Consumer prices were on average 3.4 percent higher in June than a year before. Compared with May an average of 0.2 percent decrese in prices occured – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) announced on Tuesday.
In the first six months of the year, consumer prices rose by an average of 3.5 percent, compared to the same period of last year.
Seasonally adjusted core inflation was 3.8 percent higher than a year before and rose by 0.2 percent compared to May.
Over the past year, the price of alcoholic beverages, tobacco and food has increased significantly. (MTI)
