KSH: lowest inflation since 1974
Annual inflation rate was lower than expected in August; 1.3 percent. It is the lowest level for almost 40 years. Lower inflation rate was measured last time in June 1974; 1.2 percent.
Consumer prices fell by an average of 0.3 percent in August, compared with the previous month – the Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced on Wednesday.
Analysts expected same consumer prices as in July, and an annual inflation rate of 1.65 percent. (MTI)
