Hungarian sweet corn is popular on the world market
In recent years, a significant part of Hungarian sweet corn, amounting to around 450-500 thousand tons, is processed by canning and deep-freezing companies, and then exported to many parts of the world. Two-thirds of the harvested crops will be canned, and the rest will be quick-frozen tubular or crumbled products. With this quantity, Hungary ranks second in the world market. The world’s leading sweet corn producer is the United States, where they can harvest 3 million tons of their favorite vegetables annually.
